Very nice, Jane, thank you.

My offerings pro Papa:

Morning offering to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The sufferings of all those who are losing their jobs as a result of "cost-cutting measures" brought upon by recession, and my own anxiety concerning same.

Daily devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, which I am intensifying under the spiritual direction of St. Alphonsus de Liguori.

Jane, I know this is probably a peculiar question but what is meant by spiritual communion?

Fiona:

Hi. How are you?

If you google 'Spiritual Communion' there a couple of pages of mostly Roman Catholic explanation. I've decided to post about it later this evening. Hope you will find it useful and interesting.

Confiteor:

Thanks, duly noted.

I think we're all feeling the same about the effects and possibly yet to come, effects of the recession and Papa has said enough in public for us to be certain it's in his prayers.

God bless,

Thanks Jane. Sorry, I'm really not flying on all engines at the moment. I wasn't too sure of the precise context - I wondered if it might be related more to uniting oneself closely with, for example, the prayer intentions of the Holy Father. I look forward to your post on the subject.

I submit my usual daily Rosary and Litany of Mary; 4 Masses; 2 Angelus (via CTV); labore 10 hours. I also offer up my anguish at the recent death of my mother and the anxiety that I am suffering due to my retrenchment at the end of last month.

I've been in two minds as to whether or not I should remain anonymous. However, as people have begun submitting their offerings using their full names I think I will do the same. My surname is MacAlister.

Fiona:

Of course I understand and my first thought is for you in your bereavement. I will keep you and your mother in my prayers.

As far as our spiritual communions in relation to the Holy Father, are concerned, it is that we offer whatever spiritual bebefit accrues from them, for his intentions and well being. And in so doing, we pray for just about everything!! - as he does. It's as if we pour everything into the chalice he offers daily. It is a thought which gives me fortitude and courage and I hope it will for you as well.

Thank you for your offerings for the next Bouquet which have been duly noted. Where I have them, I always give the Holy Father people's surnames, even though I don't publish them here without permission.

God bless
ICPP,
J
